last night i dreamed of a hundred million McMansions
all burning down to the ground
the smoke rising up to the sky
the smoke was carried on the wind
all the way down to cuba
where it choked the guards at guantanamo
or at least brought tears to their eyes
i bought some over-the-counter, lemony fresh anti-depressants
some microwavable toothpaste
and bacon flavored pancake batter
the girl at the checkout smiled and said:
"will you be needing any torture today?"
i said "honey i ain't no terrorist!"
she said "hey, that doesn't matter!"
then i realized... everyone was carrying...
at least one gun
every three-car garage held five or six idling automobiles
every light in every room in every house was left on
at least 24 hours a day
while a personal injury lawyer whispered to me
"how does it feel?"
then one by one all the people stepped into a voting booth
whereupon they each fell through a trap door
and landed in a chinese sweatshop
"the manufacturing jobs are back!"
said william f. buckley as he poured a coca cola
then he presented everybody with a autographed picture
of elvis throwing up at the sock hop
a girl in a headscarf and a budweiser dress
was goosestepping down the avenue
a defense contractor in a hot pink humvee
pulled up beside her
said "won't you join me for molotov cocktails?
i know a nice little iranian restaurant"
but then that new death ray they're working on...
unfortunately fried her
when i woke up, y'all, it was morning, morning in america
i stepped out to get the paper, saw my nextdoor neighbor...
lieutenant william calley
he said you really oughtta try this napalm
it's the only way to care for your lawn
then he hopped into a brand new mustang
and drove off with long tall sally
