The versatile and never-predictable Umezu Kazutoki and I are once again firing up the ol' Third Person machine, and our special guest this time is violinist Neko Saito. It'll be an evening of tight and adventurous improvisations in the patented 3P style, with major dollops of humor and whimsy amidst the concentrated intensity. And single malt scotch lovers note: Lady Jane has a big selection of exotic brands.

THU 4/14 : Tokyo Tip Tap Time
at Hikari No Uma, Okubo, Tokyo - open 19:30 - start 20:00 (2 sets) - entry: 2500 yen + drink
Tokyo Tip Tap Time is a new band featuring the very considerable talents of an extraordinary young woman, Reona Otsuka, who, as you might have guessed, is a tap dancer. Having played with her a few months ago (in a trio with saxophonist Gianni Gebbia) I can tell you that she is very, very rhythmically adept, very creative, and a great joy to perform with. She's forging exciting new ground within the tap dance discipline.
This time around Gianni, Reona and I will be joined by the wonderful bassist Keigo Iwami (some
of you may know him from my band the Swamp Root Jimmies).
NOTE: only TWO performances of this group for the foreseeable future, as Gianni Gebbia lives in Palermo, Sicily and doesn't get over here to Tokyo all that often! (Scroll down for info on TTTT's other show, on 4/20).
