Time once again, friends, to take that boat to the land of dreams, heaven on earth, they call it... New Orleans! Yours truly Samm Bennett on drums and vocal, Matt G on the keys, Huw Lloyd on clarinet and Hisa Nakase on bass. We play those timeless tunes made famous by Louisiana luminaries like Dr John, Professor Longhair, the Meters, Huey "Piano" Smith and many more. Bringing in some new original tunes this time around as well, with that New Orleans flavor, naturally. Come on down to the Dickens, where the pints are fresh and the pies are sliced! Mmmmm-MMMMM! I'll be onhand to serenade you with songs about drinking in the morning and crying at midnight, catching trains across the ocean and getting back that money your ex owes you.
The evening is a bill put together by Mattia D'Ambros (many of you will know him as the indefatigable drummer for rock trio Tits Tats and Whiskers). So although my stagemates that night are all unknown to me, I reckon they're gonna be interesting, cause Mattia keeps his finger on the pulse of the Tokyo scene. It's one of those deals where they'll ask you, I'm pretty sure, at the door, WHO you're coming to see. I'd be just pleased as punch if you'd say "Why, I'm here to see SAMM BENNETT and his WAVE DRUM!" That way some percentage of your entry fee will actually find its way into my pocket. Thanks so much! |

This is a benefit event to help raise funds for Cheshmeh's wonderful proprietor, Megumi Rain. More accurately, for Megumi's parents, who are having health issues that require, yes, money. Please come out and support her, and them, and enjoy some good music while you do it. Thanks so much.
