FRI 2/16 : SOLO songs, plus Minstrel Gallery

Friends, I've decided to cut way back on the number of solo shows I do in Tokyo, in the (hopefully not misguided) belief that fewer shows will result in better attendance. The plain fact is, I've been running around playing lots of solo shows, sometimes up to 4 or 5 in a single month, and the audience numbers are just not there to support such a schedule. Therefore, this will be the last solo set I'll be performing for the foreseeable future.

Following my set will be Minstrel Gallery, a fine trio comprised of Jean-paul Richard, Phillippe Brochen and Bruce Allen.

SUN 2/25 : SKIST (as part of "Obake Yashiki")

at Bar Gari Gari, Ikenoue, Tokyo

This will be the first SKIST gig in many a moon! What Haruna Ito and I used to do musically together way back in the mid-90s was a certain strain of electronica, using samples and drum machines and whatnot. It evolved into a more electro-acoustic endeavor a bit later on, with the addition of this and that and the other, but throughout it has featured Haruna's voice (singing and spoken word) and my, well, whatever seemed to work.

In that spirit we are continuing the group, restarting it, you might say. Hope you'll make it over to Gari Gari to check it out, along with the other sonic offerings onhand that night at the long-running Obake Yashiki event, where the music definitely leans toward the experimental and/or noise category.

Also appearing will be the fabulous Tabata Mitsuru (psych-guitarist extraordinaire) and his "Biology of the Future", plus 2 other acts.
