I Had To Crawl To Arizona

i had to crawl all the way to Arizona
a place i didn't especially want to be
but you see, i was arrested 
for some little minor infraction
and that was the sentence the judge handed me
he said to me "boy, get on your hands and knees 
   and start crawling"
then there was one more thing that he said
he said "every lawman from here to Phoenix 
   will be watching you
and if you stand up even once they're gonna shoot you dead"

now when you're crawling cross the desert 
   man it's dangerous
there's scorpions and snakes all over the ground
i was yelling i was screaming "i don't deserve this"
but there wasn't anybody anywhere  to hear the sound

but it just so happened, friends, that fortune smiled on me
cause i met a young lady who'd also been sentenced to crawl
we had a lot in common, plenty to talk about
we fell head over heels in love, i'm telling y'all

i had to crawl all the way to Arizona

so by the time we got to Arizona we were married straightaway
i love that woman and i know i always will
right now we're setting off on our wonderful honeymoon
we're gonna crawl across Mexico then crawl down to Brazil
