WED 7/4 : with Steve Gardner & Hisa Nakase

It's always a rousing and satisfying show with the great Mississippi bluesman Steve Gardner, friends! Samm will be on drums and perhaps the occasional vocal, in a trio rounded out by the rock solid bassman and all-around nice guy Hisa Nakase. Big, big fun, y'all, plus good beer, ale and stout to be had at the Dickens, not to mention classic English pub food if you're hungry! Music will start around 8 or so, no cover charge!

This is a special trio, built from two of Samm Bennett's bands. Drummer
Naoya Numa is the rhythmic powerhouse behind the Smoke Benders, and bassman Jyoji Sawada is one half of the Dosages. Samm will be shouting and wailing as usual, and playing the electric talking drum, the one-string double-drum, and lord knows what else. This promises to be a killer session, a meeting of the meta-rhythmic minds, that lovers of organic groove will not want to miss!
This trio will go on FIRST, and things run PROMPT at Moon Romantic, so please arrive on time! Two other acts up after the trio, the last of which (FIB Journal) also features the incredible Naoya Numa on drums!

Samm will be on drums, percussion and a bit of vocal and such for this improvised trio featuring the very creative guitarist and sculptor of sound Inoue Tsuneyasu and bassist Iwami Keigo. A kind of impro-psychedelic jam band.
The Foxhole is a relatively spacious venue, comfortable, and only a 3 minute walk from Kichijoji station, along the tracks.

The Mud Chuck Bobs will be one of four bands on the bill, which is topped off by visiting American bluesman Kelly Joe Phelps! Mud Chuck Bobs will go on third, at 5:00pm, followed by Kelly Joe.

Note: Bar Gari Gari is so close to the station that it's almost funny. If you take the elevator down from
Ikenoue Station (Keio Inokashira line) Gari Gari will be immediately visible when the elevator door opens. You could make it from the station to the venue in a TORRENTIAL DOWNPOUR and stay dry as a bone. Almost. It's close, friends. Ikenoue Station is only five stops past Shibuya (local train!), and one stop past Shimokitazawa.
