This is a special AFTERNOON show at the friendly and relaxed Cuzn Homeground in Asakusa. Gonna be a good one folks! The whip-snap drumming of percussion maestro Naoya Numa, plus the sultry and smooth sonic aura of the pedal steel guitar in the masterful hands of Kousuke Miyashita are always a great inspiration for me. I think you'll dig it, don't miss it!

SAT 7/11 : King Cake Baby at Soul Dama (Asagaya)
King Cake Baby is back in Asagaya, to bring you more of that New Orleans Second Line vibe! This is a double bill with a new unit called Very Good Saturdays, and our bass player Hisa Nakase just happens to be a member of that group, whaddaya know about that? Should be a fun evening KCB is up first, at 7PM. Don't miss it!

SAT 7/18 : Bennett-Isao Project at Frida (Nishi-Ogikubo)
This new duo unit is moving into "psych folk" territory, or something like that. Isao's 4-string Thai electric guitar is a good match for my 1-string diddly bass, and we've only just begun exploring the possibilities. Hope you can make this triple bill, organized by guitarist & vocalist Wheelie Tago, who always brings the raw energy guaranteed to set the night on fire!

FRI 7/24 : Samm Bennett solo + Marcos Fernandes solo at Art Baboo (Yokohama)
It's song night at Art Baboo 146 in deepest Chinatown, Yokohama! This will be the 3rd time Marcos and I have double billed at the friendly little venue: those shows were action-packed smashing successes, so I'm looking forward to this next one. We'll each do solo sets, mixing cover tunes and originals. Hope to see you there.

SUN 8/2 ; Samm Bennett SOLO at What the Dickens (Ebisu)
I'm back at the ol' Dickens, y'all, for the first solo show I've done there in a good long while. Coming up right after the "Open Stage" open mic event winds down, I'll be doing a mix of original tunes, covers, and loopy sonic explorations that might keep you engaged or entertained. And if they don't, hey, it's a big room, you can always head to the bar and chat up that person you're hoping might go home with you. It's all good, as Bob Dylan said. Oh, yeah, speaking of which, sure, I'll be doing some Dylan tunes. And summa mine. And summa some others. Why don'tcha come over to Ebisu and partake of summa that? It ain't like I play in this town every gaddam day, right? And ain't nobody else around what's doing like I'm doing. No brag, just fact. Plus, you can get some poub food there, like some steak and chicken pies and all that English whatnot. See you there, maybe.
