Time again to get that New Orleans thing GOING with King Cake Baby, rocking all your favorite tunes made famous by folks like Professor Longhair, Dr John and many more musical legends of the Crescent City. The venue is the friendly, homey Shimokita bar and live spot Never Never Land, where there will even be room to shake your money maker, if that's whatchu wanna do! KCB has been known to have that effect on people.. Don't miss it!
DIRECTIONS TO NEVER NEVER LAND: Take a right turn out of the north exit at Shimokitazawa station. Walk straight along the pedestrian shopping street (past Caldi Coffee Farm and Segafredo) until you come to a T-intersection. Turn right again and walk a short block till you see the giant Pepsi can and the MOS BURGER. Turn left there, then right again at the next T-intersection. You will see a big SHIMOKITAZAWA sign at the end of that street. There you take a left, and you will soon see NOAH SOUND STUDIO. Never Never Land is directly acrosss the street from NOAH, on the second floor, just above the smaller NOAH Piano Annex.

Always a big pleasure to play with Mississippi born-and-bred country blues maestro Rambling Steve Gardner. The man has a huge catalog of tunes, and the energy and spontaneity is always there.
This time around it's the trio version, with the wonderful Hisa Nakase - who has been playing with Steve for years now - on the bass.

Folks, here is a VERY rare opportunity to hear Seattle-based keyboardist Wayne Horvitz, in Japan for a very brief period, in his ONLY Tokyo musical appearance. Samm and Wayne go way back to the early days of the New York *downtown scene*, where they performed together at the Knitting Factory and other legendary NYC avant-music spots. Guitarist Uchihashi Kazuhisa and Samm also go back at least 20 years or so, having performed and recorded together in improvised music formats all around Japan, in Europe, etc. This trio promises to be first rate stuff for you improvised music fans, and it is happening in the intimate setting of the new music venue in Okubo called Hikari no Uma. Get those ears ready.
