FRI 11/1 : Samm Bennett w/ Eriko Anamizu at Oil City (Asagaya)

This will be my 2nd show in duo format with drummer Eriko Anamizu. Our first show in October went real nicely indeed, and we're both looking forward to doing another set of my originals plus some cover tunes at Oil City. There will, as always at Oil City, be other bands on the bill, Eriko and I will do our set THIRD in the lineup. See times below:

SAT 11/2 : King Cake Baby w/ special guests at Moon Stomp (Koenji)

PLUS... opening up the evening will be local (and sometimes international!) legend Rambling Steve Gardner, bringing his patented pre-war blues and folk stylings to your ears! A special night indeed! And Shoichi Yamada will bring the perfect slippin' and slidin' trombone finishing touches to King Cake Baby's second-line stylings, so you DON'T wanna miss this one, hoo nah nay!

WED 11/6 : Samm Bennett & Andrea Centazzo at Hikari no Uma (Okubo)

I'm thrilled to finally have the chance to make some joyful noise with the esteemed Mr Centazzo, who has a long history of working in the field of improvised music. His list of collaborators over the years is a veritable Who's Who including legends of the genre such as Derek Bailey, Evan Parker, John Zorn and many, many others. This is a VERY rare trip to Japan he's making, so be sure and come on out and show some of that famous Tokyo hospitality to this musical visitor! He'll be on his unique percussion kit, and I'll be using my new tabletop cigar box guitar + records (etc) setup. Gonna be a lotta fun, for sure.

SAT 11/16 : Samm Bennett w/ Ryougo Kuwahata at Lighthouse (Kokubunji)

I've done a few gigs now with drummer Kuwahata Ryougo and he's a great rhythmic accompanist for my songs. This time, we're happy to be back at the lively and friendly Lighthouse in Kokubunji. Free entry there as always, and we'll pass the hat for your kind donations toward the music. I'll be singing a buncha covers and originals, with Kuwahata-san laying down the crucial beats. Come to Lighthouse, where the food is really tasty (no lie!) and the beer selection is excellent. It's the Dutch touch!
