I had the good fortune to perform at the wonderful little music spot Toppers, in Chiba City, once before, a couple years back, and really enjoyed the evening. Real nice folks over there. This time around I'll be doing a solo set of songs and such, along with other performers, all organized by Mickey Acorn, a fine singer/songwriter based in Chiba. Come!

FRI 5/17 : Bennett-Kuroda + special guests at Tokyo Song Celebration!

This will be the 3rd installment of the new music series "Tokyo Song Celebration" at Fuglen in Asakusa. Bennett-Kuroda hosts each month, and invite a different guest performer each time around.

This month's special guest is Matt Gillan, and he'll be doing Okinawan songs. Yup, that's right! In addition to having the classic New Orleans piano stylings (a la Professor Loghair, Dr John, etc) down pretty cold, the man also TEARS IT UP on the Okinawan sanshin. Sings the songs, too. A rare chance to see and hear this side of the amazing Mr Gillan's musical personality and expertise. AND... joining Bennett-Kuroda for two full sets will be killer bass player Jeff Curry!

Time once again for those New Orleans sounds you LOVE! Luck-ya is a new venue for us, located right next door to Moon Stomp, in Koenji, where some of you might have caught some King Cake Baby action over the past couple of months. Come on out and let the good times ROLL!

SUN 5/19 : Bennett-Kuroda + Jeff Curry on bass!

at What the Dickens, Ebisu, Tokyo

Bennett-Kuroda will offer up three full sets of music for you, starting around 8PM and going till 11:30-ish. Come on over for some pie and pints and sounds! And take special note: we will be a TRIO on this evening, with the addition of powerhouse bassist (on ye olde upright) Jeff Curry. We're really looking forward to this one!
