Random Pictures of Strangers

all i've got from the early years
are just some random pictures of strangers i can't remember
that's me there with who knows who
christmas lights all around
i guess it must've been december
looks like i was pretty cold
even way back then i was starting to feel old
in these random pictures of strangers i can't remember

now here's another picture of me
with two strangers passing by near the factory wall
see the distant look in my eye
by the leaves on the trees
i guess it must've been the late fall
see the two folks passing by
they were lovers you can tell
holding hands and smiling
and me in my own little hell
and who even took this picture?
ah, people i can't recall

here's one more with a pretty young woman
it makes me sad you know
that i can't recall her name
oh but i remember all too well
another woman who was just outside the frame
but i guess it's only fitting
that the camera missed her then
that's how she stepped out of my life
the day she left me way back when
i might as well erase myself
cause things have never been the same
