Samm Bennett : solo performances using the 3-string guitar
Hello friends, Samm Bennett here. When I moved from the world of percussion to the world of stringed instruments several years back, I gravitated to the 3-string instrument known as the strumstick, or stick dulcimer. I started out with the diatonic (major scale) instruments that are patterned after the Appalachian mountain dulcimer's fretboard. Wasn't *too* long, though, before I started wanting all 12 notes of the tempered scale, and I started using chromatic strumsticks, which I prefer to call "3-string guitars", in order to distinguish them from the diatonic strumsticks favored largely by hobbyists and such. The fretboard, after all, is essentially like that of the guitar. So... 3-string guitar it is.
The videos on this page are from solo concert performances or from the home studio in Tokyo, and span the years 2015 to the present. Hope you enjoy.
