Vintage Party Noise Makers
Hello friends, Samm Bennett here. I like these old party noise makers (rattles, ratchets, clangers and thumb clickers) for a number
of reasons. One is that I like to actually use these kinds of items sometimes in recording or performance, especially when I'm after a certain kind of "controlled randomness", if you know what I mean. Another reason is that I really like the idea of people at parties just, well, making a joyous racket. Fun! And another reason, of course, is the visual interest: gotta love that cheap old aesthetic, and the subject matter of clowns and harlequins, beautiful girls bathing in martini glasses, Spanish dancers and so forth. Hope you enjoy this collection.
Obviously some of the imagery on these items embodies, to varying degrees, offensive racial stereotypes. My including them in this collection should in no way be seen as any kind of personal endorsement of said stereotypes. But leaving them out of the collection would serve no purpose beyond ignoring historical reality, which, ideally, we should all be aware of, in my humble opinion.
Oh, and one more thing: I want to hear all of these together.

That's all for now! More coming soon!
