Hello friends, Samm Bennett here. I have taken it upon myself to create an extensive photo documenting of the lovely Yanaka Cemetery of Tokyo. It is a place I've visited often through the years, and especially as more and more of the historic, well-worn and beautiful old grave sites make way for the much uglier and much more generic newer graves, I've taken it as my mission to record as much of the old Yanaka as I can. The cemetery is, sadly, changing, for the worse, and very, very rapidly, and I aim to capture as much of its beauty as I can, before that beauty is gone forever.

There are many aspects of this wonderful place, and I am dividing the galleries up according to these different aspects. Each link here on this contents page will take you to a separate gallery, showcasing a certain part of the cemetery's personality and character. Hope you enjoy.
